Call for Furloughed Staff to Volunteer for Essex Welfare Service

Posted on: April 2, 2020

Kirsty O’Callaghan, Head of Community Resilience of Essex County Council, is reaching out with an ask for organisations which have furloughed staff or have staff with additional capacity.

The Essex Welfare Service is in need of people who can work virtually to help deploy volunteers as part of the council’s Essex Coronavirus Action response.

Staff who have been furloughed are able to volunteer in their communities, but can not work for free for their usual employer.

Furloughed staff can volunteer for another organisation and the employing charity can still claim the 80% back.

If you are able to support this request, please complete this survey.
