Claim for your employee’s wages through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme is a temporary scheme open to all UK employers for at least three months starting from 1 March 2020. It is designed to support employers whose operations have been severely affected by coronavirus (COVID-19).

Employers can use a portal to claim for 80% of furloughed employees’ (employees on a leave of absence) usual monthly wage costs, up to £2,500 a month, plus the associated Employer National Insurance contributions and minimum automatic enrolment employer pension contributions on that wage. Your supporters can now help you to raise money via Amazon Smile when using the Amazon shopping mobile app on Android devices.

Amazon Smile is operated by online shopping service Amazon, and donates 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) of eligible purchases to the charitable organisation selected by the user. Read more…

Beware of Coronavirus Scams

Essex Police have issued a warning residents to:

“Be vigilant following reports that fraudsters are attempting to take advantage of the current climate by carrying out crime online and at people’s doorsteps.

“Fraudsters will go to extreme lengths to get access to your hard earned money, including posing as government officials by text message, online or by knocking at doors.”

New advice to support mental health during coronavirus outbreak

David Sollis steps down as Healthwatch Essex CEO

David Sollis has now left his role as CEO of Healthwatch Essex, after 7 years with the organisation.

David first joined Healthwatch Essex as the Engagement Manager in 2013, before becoming CEO in 2017. David focused the strategic leadership part of the role to ensure that the ‘Lived Experience’ of patients, family, Carers and staff is at the heart of the health & social care in Essex and the wider region.

David also sat on the Steering Group of The Essex Alliance, before stepping down in 2019 due to other commitments.

We thank David for his work across the sector, and wish him well in his future endeavours.
